Ode to Turkey Burgers and How I Love Thee

Ode to Turkey Burgers (And How I Love Thee)
Ode to turkey burgers,
and how I love thee.
Juicy and tasty,
lean and mean,
You’re the kind of burger I need.

Now, please don’t misunderstand me.
I still adore my bacon cheeseburgers,
Made with regular beef.
They’re still number one,
The all time classic comfort,
the burger of my dreams.

But turkey burgers, you see,
have a certain mystique.
Juicy and flavorful,
They’re rarely greasy.
In fact, they’re actually healthy.

So I could have two. Or three.

You know turkey burger, there’s just so much I like about you.
I like that I can snarf you down for lunch,
And not feel overly full.
I like that I can wolf you down for dinner,
slathered in mayo and bbq.
You’re fine on the grill,
easy in a skillet,
You even do well with a George Foreman,
Which is quite impressive.

Bun or toast,
Swiss or American,
Oh turkey burger,
you’re just a bite of heaven.

Whether at a restaurant or home,
Grill or skillet,
Lunch or dinner,
Turkey burger of mine, you’re always a winner.

Ode to the turkey burger,
and how I love thee.
For without your juicy delights,
I’d be very hungry.
Stay tuned, Invisible Friends! Tomorrow we have a new Coconut Queen and Thursday, a tasty new recipe! We’ve also got a new Twirl and a new creative woman this week! Stay tuned!

Turkey burgers are a favorite here also, as are tukey meatballs. Is that provolone on top? Big satisfying yum from me.

I think I know what I am going to have for dinner tonight! I’ve been completely seduced by your turkey burger ode (the most eloquent and moving turkey burger ode I’ve ever heard, by the way)

Great little poem – now I am wanting one.

I have a great turkey burger recipe Duckie that I’d be happy to share with you!! They have a tex mex flavour and there is a delish chipolte salsa to go with them, not to mention avocado!! Love you loads! XXOO

I love turkey burgers, so good!! Veggie burgers are also tasty
May 19th, 2009 at 11:25 am
I like your poem but I don’t like turkey burgers! I like veggie burgers, though, like black bean burgers, yum!! The only time I ever cooked turkey burgers they had a real ‘funny’ smell and ever since then I’ve avoided them. I’m sorry.
May 19th, 2009 at 11:32 am
You know, I’ve never had a turkey burger. Never sound that appetizing. I guess if I’m going to get a burger, I want it to be the real thing, complete with cheddar and bacon!

Yet another reminder that I need to make turkey burgers! I’ve actually only had a couple in my entire life. I really enjoyed them, but for some reason always forget about making them for myself!

Blonde Duck that turkey burger looks so yummy!
You asked about my daughters hair. It was done in a reverse French braid while hair was wet and then lightly sprayed with hairspray. She slept with it that way and this morning she took out the braid and ran her fingers through it. She has very straight and hard to curl hair. I think it looks great on her. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

I love turkey burgers, too. I wish my husband was more fond of them, but they’ll never be a replacement for his beloved cheeseburgers.
Thanks for stopping by my blog last week!

K…
So veggie burgers are just as delish. Packed with veggies. Low-low on fat and calories…and lubed with goodness.
I am not a vegetarian, BUT this is one way I get my youngest son’s vegetable servings in. Meat FrEaK!
I have digressed and joined him only to save my calories and I am HOOKED!!!
Go there. I dare you.

I LOVE TURKBURGS! I really like them because the frozen ones I have are quick to cook (3 minutes, flip, 3 minutes, done, while icy beefburgs are at least 11 minutes) and also… I’ve never burnt a turkburg! Even if I cook them (frying pan or foreman grill) for way longer than the instructions say, they still come out soft and nummy…
while beef burgs come out crusty and hard!
