The Return of Miss Pickles 26

Hello, Invisible Friends. Queen Bitty here.

And I want a taco.
A crunchy, beef taco.

A soft, chicken taco.

A tasty, grilled tilapia taco.
A breakfast taco with egg and cheese.
I don’t care. Just give me a taco. I’m blaming this on the Blond Duck and her ode to Mexican Food tommorow. It’s had me craving tacos for days, and no one will give me a taco.

I am not amused.
Oh, I see. Because I’m a Chihuahua, you think my Mexican roots are coming through.
You are mistaken.

I am Queen Bitty, ruler of the Pond.
And if I want a taco, I shall have one.

Now go get it for me. Now.
Until then, I’ll read the newest Miss Pickles.

Previous editions can be read here, and the original book can be read here.

If you get me a taco, I’ll buy you one.

“What a minute!” Mason exclaimed, smacking his palm into his head. “That’s what’s wrong! We can’t use the tears of sorrow from Wilfred!”
Wilfred blew his nose into his mustache, the fresh snot dripping off of his crusty nose. “And why not?”
“Don’t you remember what the Seabreeze said?” Mason asked. “She said we had to get the tears of Anguish from the Weeping Willow, not the Tears of Sorrow from a Warbling Walrus. Then we have to trap the Giggler and pour the tears over his eyes.”
Miss Pickles bit her lip. “Well, darn. Good point, duckie. I hadn’t realized the distinction.”
“Where is the Weeping Willow?” Don asked, glancing at his watch. “We don’t have much time…”
Ralph raised his hand. “I think I may know.”
Everyone turned to him in surprise, except Wilfred, who was too depressed to be surprised.
“I think it’s at the bottom of the pond out there,” Ralph said, his cheeks pink. “I saw it when I was staring at the fish.”
“There’s a tree at the bottom of the pond?” Don shook his head. “This place gets weirder and weirder.”
“Not only that, but it’s upside down…” Ralph trailed off. “What? I didn’t do it.”
“That makes perfect sense,” Miss Pickles mused. “Since it’s upside down, it’s shed tears pool up to create the pond. That’s why it’s so fresh! And why there’s so many fish. They have so many wonderful places to play hide and seek.”
Mason didn’t even bother to think about the ridiculousness of the situation. “One of us has to dive down there and get the tears.”
“How are we going to tell the tears from the regular water from the falls?” Don pointed out.
“Easy,” Wilbur warbled, tears streaming out of his own eyes. “When the Weeping Willow cries, it’s tears are blue stones. Once they hit the sunlight, they turn to water. So you just have to collect them when it’s dark.” He sniffled. “Does that mean you’ll be staying for dinner? I’d offer you a shrimp dinner, but the Seabreeze has been holding out on me for ages…”
“You know, you whine a lot.” Don shook his head.
“Thank you.” The Walrus’ lips trembled, his mustache dancing. “That’s the nicest thing anyone’s ever said to me.”
“Well, this isn’t going to do at all,” Mason mused, pacing around the cave floor. “We’ve got to get the tears and find the Giggler in just a few hours, or the Ladybug will miss her party. We don’t have time to wait.”
“No time for dinner?” Ralph asked, wistful. “I would have dearly loved a shrimp dinner.”
“So would I.” Wilfred and Ralph sniffled in unison, each wearing identical sorrowful looks.
Miss Pickles scratched her head. “We do seem to have a predicament, duckies.”
Everyone stared at each other, wearing identical glum expressions. Suddenly, Mason snapped his fingers.
“Wait a minute!” he cried. “Nothing on this island is what it seems. Why should this pond be any different?”
“What do you mean?” Don asked.
“No one said we had to wait until night, just until it was dark,” Mason explained. “So we’ll make it dark. We’ll shade the pond and get the tree to cry, collect the tears and find the Giggler.”
“He’s close.” Don shuddered. “I can hear him, in the very back of my mind. It’s faint, but he’s there.”
“How are we going to shade the pond?” Ralph asked.
“Leave that to me,” Miss Pickles interjected, a giddy grin on her face. “Who’s going to dive down?”
Mason looked at Don. Don looked at Ralph. Ralph looked at Miss Pickles. Miss Pickles looked at Wilfred, who looked at the floor.
“I’ll go,” Mason said finally. “I’ll need a black light or something. Something that won’t turn the tears but so I can still see.”
With a swooping motion, Miss Pickles pulled a black light and diving mask out of her handbag. Reaching in again, she handed him a pair of flippers and an enormously long snorkel. Sticking the tongue to the side of her mouth, she pulled out a giant silver shade.
“A photographer gave this to me,” she explained, wrestling it out of her handbag. “It’ll block out light from the sun if you were five feet away.”
“I doubt it.” Don crossed his arms and narrowed his gaze at the shade. “How much stuff is in your purse?”
“Don’t ask,” Ralph whispered, glancing at Miss Pickles. “It’ll boggle your mind.”
“Can we hurry this along?” Wilfred whimpered. “I’ve usually done much more sobbing and wailing by now. This is interfering with my schedule.”
“We’re terrible sorry,” Mason apologized. Pulling on the mask and flippers, he waddled out the cave entrance to the edge of the Pond. Holding up the shade, Miss Pickles nodded.
Taking a deep breath, Mason jumped into the lagoon.
Stay tuned, Invisible Friends! Tomorrow we have an ode to Mexican food, Wednesday a new Pet Shop story and Thursday a delicious taco recipe! Stay tuned!

Spot on with this write-up, I actually assume this website needs way more consideration. I’ll in all probability be once more to learn way more, thanks for that info.
