Pizza Toast

Ode to Pizza Toast

(and How I Love Thee)

Ode to Pizza Toast,

And how I love thee.

For no one can deny,

That you are utterly tasty.

Better than pizza,

Supreme to plain toast,

Meaty and cheesy and doughy,

Oh, it’s what I love the most.

It’s so simple to make,

It’ll take you no time at all.

Just take your favorite spaghetti sauce,

A whole lot of ground beef,

And let it simmer and soak and get all good and juicy,

(if you don’t have leftovers from spaghetti.)

Layer it up on a pile of toast,

High and proud,

Top it off with a ton of mozzarella cheese,

A few sprinkles of parmesan,

and broil it until it’s melty and gooey and absolutely drool worthy.

There’s something about piles of meat on bread,

I find absolutely delightful.

And with a mound of cheese oozing down the side,

why, it’s perfectly sinful.

Crispy and gooey,

Meaty and cheesy,

Thick and hearty,

Quick and easy.

Ode to pizza toast,

And how I love thee.

For there’s nothing I love more for dinner,

than toast with enormous amounts of meat and cheese–

Why, it’s just pure ecstasy.
