BBQ Pulled Chicken
When the wind gets cool and breezy,
And the thermometer dips below 80,
I do a jig across the kitchen floor,
It’s time for a dish I adore.
BBQ pulled chicken,
Oh how I love thee,
So easy to make,
So easy to eat.
All you do is dump some chicken into a pot,
Add a little onion and garlic powder,
some pepper and salt,
A dash of worschire, a smudge of brown sugar…
But that’s not all,
That’s not even close!
For I dump an entire jar of sauce,
Almost enough to fill the whole pot.
As the resident BBQ queen,
This pulled chicken is divine,
Tasty enough to wash away my tears of not having a smoker,
And the perfect accompaniment to pie.
Simple and elegant,
Tasty and true.
Just simmer for two hours and shred,
you’ll know what to do.
Ode to BBQ pulled chicken,
And how I love thee.
For you make everything from sandwiches to enchiladas,
Really really tasty.
Stay tuned for a fun Friday Five and the next Blue eyes! And next week, it’s HALLOWEEN WEEK!!!!!!!

Yum. I need to sneak over your way and beg for leftovers. The Mrs. hates BBQ so I have to wait for a visit to my dad’s house in TX to get my fill.
