Pumpkin Bread
When the leaves turn red and gold,
The nights turning crisp and cold,
Come join me at the Pond,
For warm pumpkin bread.
Traditional and comforting,
It smells like home,
Tastes like mama’s kitchen,
And is like being wrapped in your husband’s arms.
So let me cut you a slice,
Or two or three,
And as the kids play in the leaves outside,
We’ll chat. Just you and me.
Stay tuned, Invisible Friends! We have a new Friday Five and the third section of Blue Eyes mañana!

Pumpkin bread is actually my dad’s favorite kind of bread. He loves it! I always say that I will someday learn the recipe myself, but I’m not sure if I will ever get there. I’m not a baker. Or a cook. Or a domestic person …

Quick breads are so good, and pumpkin bread is no exception. It’s second only to pumpkin pie.
