Food and Love

Posted on November 29th, 2011 in Food, Stories

Please vote for my picture book, “The Night Santa Stole, I mean Borrowed, My Sleigh and “If I was a Dog” to win!

Food is love.

The careful mixing and measuring….

Rolling out crust by hand…

And making even the smallest detail mouthwatering beautiful.

There’s love in my biscuits….

Love in my pies…

Love in my briskets and chicken fried….

Love in my muffins.

I don’t love to cook, I cook for love.

And I love what others cook for me…

When it’s out of love, like Mrs. McGill’s Tuna Salad…

My mom’s pumpkin bread and apple pie….

Tootie’s chicken pot pie…

Or Ben’s waffles.

Food is love.

When it comes to feeding other’s hearts.

This post was inspired by the publication of my story “Magic Tuna Salad” in Chicken Soup for The Soul’s Food and Love, just released!

And please vote on my picture books to win!  If I win, copies will be donated to my old elementary school! So please vote on both stories!

Stay tuned, Invisible Friends! We have a new Wings tomorrow!
