Ode to Thanksgiving (and how I Love Thee)

Ode to Thanksgiving (and How I Love thee)

Ode to Thanksgiving,

And how I love thee,

For it is the part of the year,

That is the most tasty.

Stuffing and mashed potatoes,

Yams and cranberrry sauce,

Biscuits and pie,

Oh Lord, I might just die.

Family and friends,

Coming together,

The ultimate Sunday dinner,

At each and every table.

Some may say grace,

Some may just dig in,

But no matter where you are,

There’s bound to be laughter and grins.

Some tables may hold two,

Some may hold twenty,

Some may hold friends or family you met that day,

But all will hold plenty.

And whether you’re near to family,

Or way too far,

There is no such thing as an empty chair.

Find a friend,

Find a neighbor,

Even call up your obnoxious brother,

For on Thanksgiving,

Tis a day for feasting and dining,

Eating and laughing,

Living and loving…

And eating lots of pie.

Stay tuned, Invisible Friends! A special Thanksgiving story tomorrow!
