Friday Five: Stories through Songs

Posted on March 16th, 2012 in Friday Five, Stories

Draw me a map that leads me back to you,

I don’t know where to go, please tell me what to do.

Help me find the road you’re on,

I just need directions home,

Draw me a map that leads me back to you.

*Lyrics from Dierks Bentley.

What would your song be this Friday?

Stay tuned, Invisible Friends!  A new edition of Sassi tomorrow!

Oh, that is just so sweet, Duckie :) Love this post, the lyrics, and the pictures.

If I had to pick a song for today, I’d go with “Wading in the Velvet Sea” by Phish. It’s a bit on the gloomy side, and this song always makes me reflective. It’s so incredibly beautiful though.

I took a moment from my day/Wrapped it up in things you say/Mailed it off to your address/You’ll get it pretty soon unless

The packaging begins to break/And all the points I tried to make/Are tossed with thoughts into a bin/Time leaks out my life leaks in

You won’t find moments in a box/And someone else will set your clocks/I took a moment from my day/Wrapped it up in things you say/And mailed it off to you…

  9. Rachel (S[d]OC) Says:

I’m going to say “Santa Fe” by Beirut. I don’t get the what the lyrics mean. I’m sure they mean something to the lyricist, but to me they’re kind of babbly – but that’s okay. YOu see, it’s Friday and nonsensical lyrics just kind of fit. I’m a little headachey, a little tired of my job, and very eager to start the weekend. “Santa Fe” has this amazing upbeat tune, so I can just get into the music, sing along, and feel happily silly!

  10. Hilary Says:

Hi Blonde Duck .. great thoughts and your map is well tuned into hubby – have a very happy weekend .. cheers Hilary

Great song lyrics. The sun is finally shining so I am feeling in the mood for a little Bob Marley. Any song will do.

  13. Bonnie Says:

Oh, goodness. I don’t know if any song fits how I am feeling right now. I’m buried in paperwork! Haha.
