If I was a Koala….
If I was a koala,
I’d dwell in a tree,
Snacking on eucalyptus leaves,
As many as I could eat.
If I was a koala,
I’d prance about,
showing off my pouchy–sorry–pouchy tummy,
With a little head poking out.
If I was a koala,
I’d twirl from limb to limb,
Dancing from tree to tree,
Until I dropped from sheer exhaustion,
Into a sunkissed canopy.
If I was a koala,
Earrings would dangle from my fuzzy ears,
As I sashay about forrest in my stylish grey fur,
Those Aboriginals ain’t got nothing on me.
If I was a koala,
I’d snooze most of the day,
waking only for tasty leaves,
plucked straight from the nearest tree.
But if I can’t be a koala,
I’d like to at least have one or two,
Hug them and squeeze them like teddy bears,
As they clung to my arms like trees,
For wouldn’t you like a koala,
To snuggle until it wheezed?
If I was a koala,
I’d coo in delight,
For if I was a koala,
I’d be sleeping in a treehouse tonight.

Such a cute poem. I think they are pretty cute too. I couldn’t do it all the time, but they are pretty lazy which does sound good.

Koalas are adorable, but they’re supposed to be really foul tempered. Keep Queen Bitty and Sir Bear instead.

OMG those are the cutest pictures ever!! I totally want one too. That was one of the best parts of my visit to Australia, being able to cuddle with a koala!!
