Meet Saxon and Missy.

They’re therapy pugs with San Antonio’s Delta Pet Partners of San Antonio.   I’m doing a story on them for the North Central News, a local paper. Missy and Saxon do all sorts of things for the community, like reading with children who otherwise would struggle for a book or visiting patients at a hospital and seeing residents of a assisted living facility.

But Saxon and Missy are special…

because they’re getting married.

I met with the wedding party (bridesmaids in the front) to learn all the details about the Valentine’s themed wedding on the 17th, covering everything from Missy’s dress (red velvet and organza) to the groom’s reaction (if it’s not food, he’s not really excited.)  The couple will be exchanging vows at a home for older people with Alzheimer’s, to give them a Valentine’s Day giggle.

It was love at first lick.

Stay tuned for more nuptial details!  And stay tuned for a new story tomorrow, Invisible Friends!
