This Friday, the Blond Duck reveals while she is a lover of food and all things tasty, she will never be a foodie.

Top Five Reasons the Blond Duck will Never Be a Foodie:

1) The Blond Duck gags at the words foodie, fro-yo, amaze balls and yum-o.

2) The Blond Duck abhors most food trends like oaties, protien-powder laced cookies, flour less cookies and kale chips (unless needed for celiac/ medical reasons.) I grew kale as a science project in the 5th grade. I’m not eating it with salsa.

3) My food pictures stink.

4) The Blond Duck likes ribs. And burgers. No fancy burgers, no chipolte-laced sauces. Bacon, cheese, beef. Meat, meat, meat.

5) My pies are from scratch, but I use cake mixes without shame.

Ode to Crispie Heart Squares and How I Love Thee

Ode to Crispe Heart Treats,

And how I love thee,

because you made a classic,

Even more tasty.

I’ve long been a sucker for rice krispie treats,

I love the crisp,

The crunch,

The yumminess in every bite.

But when I saw,

Kashi cheerios with hearts,

A new recipe was born,

in the Pond’s kitchen.

The only thing better than krispie treats

Is krispie treats with tiny cereal hearts,

mounds of marshmallow and butter,

Every bite a delicious crunch.

Easy and quick,

Light and tasty,

I can eat an entire tray,

Just don’t tempt me.

Ode to crispy heart squares,

and how I love thee,

For you’ve given me a new favorite,

That’s utterly tasty.

Crispy Heart Squares

Serves:	32
Prep time:	None
Cook time:	30 minutes
Total time:	30 minutes
Region:	Worldwide

Ingredients

6 heaped tablespoons Butter
6 cups Cereal
1 bag Marshmallows

Directions

Step 1
Melt butter in saucepan over low heat.
Step 2
Add marshmallows, stir to combine.
Step 3
Take off heat and add cereal. Stir and press into parchment covered 9x13 pan.
Step 4
Let cool, cut into squares and inhale!

* I used Kashi heart honey cheerios!

Ode to Peanut Butter and Jelly (and How I Love Thee)

Ode to Peanut butter and jelly,

and how I love thee,

For without you,

My life would be full of misery.

Ever since I was a small duckie,

My favorite has been peanut butter and jelly.

A close second with peanut butter and honey,

peanut butter and jelly has always been my thing.

Sandwiches at school,

Before bed snacks,

On crackers or tortillas,

Or straight out of the jar,

nothing warms my heart,

more than that salty sweet mix.

It takes all my willpower,

Every ounce of strength,

Putting the pantry under lock and key,

Before I eat my weight in this glorious treat.

Peanut butter is grand,

jelly is tasty,

But together, oh together,

They’re simply amazing.

I’ve dallied with peanut butter and honey,

Experimented with peanut butter and bananas,

Even strawberry jam and cream cheese with my beloved pb–

but my heart always returns to it’s one true love,

the classic peanut butter and jelly.

Like peas and carrots,

Pie and whipped cream,

the only thing better than peanut butter jelly,

is the man of my dreams (holding a jar, of course.)

Some may say I need to grow up,

some may say I need professional help,

but I don’t care.

If they knew the glories of peanut butter and jelly,

the sweet simplicity,

The delicious decadence of this classic treat,

They’d leave me alone and eat and eat!

Ode to peanut butter and jelly,

And how I love thee,

For you’re so delicious that 27 years later,

I still eat you with glee.

(I even feed you to my puppies.)
